Prescribed Debt

Hi. Please assist,I had an African Bank credit card in 2010 which I last paid for in 2014 and in 2017 November they(African Bank) began making lump sum deductions on my bank account without my authorisation which I complained about to my bank (Capitec),who referred me to African Bank who informed me they had a right to do so since I have balance owing on this credit card account. 1.My question is in terms of Prescription Act 68 of 1969,Section 10(1) were they right to do so? 2.What recourse do I have in terms of this? Secondly because I allowed them deduct from my bank account,they've been deducting any amounts of money they feel like and when I've tried to reason with them they've threatened me with legal action via their third party Saya Recoveries.
