Stale chips before the expiry date on the package
I purchased a bag of Flanagan's chips a week before a friend's birthday party. Purchased a dip to go with. After the party, my husband tried some and we discovered these to be extremely stale. I checked the bag and it was still a week before expiry date. I contacted the company via email and shared my concern. They gave me R20 and I thought that was quite an insult considering you would repurchase for R18, let alone the wasted dip, the embarrassment of stale uneaten chips, the numerous emails which costs money and time. I made it known that I wanted my money back due to their arrogance and I was told no you won't get your money back, I further challenged them and I was told to go and sort it out with Checkers. I informed them that I do not have a till slip but I would take it further. By now the company should know that their chips are stale before the expiry date, they are many years in business and it is a consumable product. I had to endure the frustration just to repurchase their product, why? I paid for it, I dictate what I want to happen with my money, evidently they dictate how and what without compensation for the problems experienced. An extra R2, not sufficient to cover your numerous emails, let alone the dip, your petrol, etc, etc. I found them to be arrogant. The ref no from them is NBL O033913
