My worst experience ever staying in a Guesthouse.

I recently booked two nights in Natalie Guesthouse in Bloubergstrand while on holiday in the Cape. When I booked into my room, I couldn't see any problem at all, however, after a short rest I wanted to go out for supper in town. I tried to close the curtains and the curtain rail fell of, because there was no stopper on the rail. I put the rail back and then the holding bracket pulled out of the wall. Once again the curtain rail came down. I fixed this myself. When returning from supper around 23:00 that evening, there was no hot water to shower with. I showered in cold water and when taking my towel from the towel rail, this rail came down too. I used the basin to brush my teeth and to shave and after putting the plug in the basin, it would not come out again. The "hostess" tried herself the next day but did not succeed. It is the middle of summer and there wasn't even a cooling fan provided. After pointing all this out to the "hostess", she still made me pay the full amount of R600.00 for the night. She was so scared that I wouldn't pay that she followed me around with her card machine! This very poor service should be pointed out to the service provider and all other Guesthouse owners in the area. The next day I walked into the Port House Guesthouse and it was as if I had walked into a five star hotel for a few rands more. I would not recommend Natalie Guesthouse to any person wanting to stay in Bloubergstrand.
