Exploited by Natal Property Consultants while haven’t entered into a lease agreement with them.

I went to Natal Property Consultant after seeing an ad of a 1 bedroom at Adeline Court of which the ad didn’t show the interior of the flat. The agent there arranged that I can go view while the tenant was still staying there. When I was there I noticed that the kitchen and the bathroom of the flat were not in good condition. I quickly returned to Natal Prop offices to tell the agent that I can take the flat only if they repair all that is not right and repaint. He assured me that I mustn’t worry about that they do maintain and repair after every tenant has moved out. I also communicated via email and made numerous calls to follow up on the matter. The previous tenant would have moved out 15 days earlier before I occupy. The agent said I must transfer deposit of which I did in full. He there after sent the lease agreement via email which I saw days later and didn’t sign. I called again to check if repairs were being done, he sent an email to me saying the contractor is busy with repairs everything will be ready before occupation date. On the last weekend of the month I went to Natal Prop, was given a key and was told I can go to the flat. I found that the state of the flat was even worse than when I had seen it before. The sink and toilet were leaking of water. The pipe connecting to the toilet was wrapped in a blue tape which means it has been leaking for a while and they are aware. If you flush the toilet the water drips harder creating a pool of water on the floor. The kitchen cupboards were worn out and the cupboard below the sink was even rotten of dripping water. The flat had a strong damp smell and it was in no condition to house anyone. A person by the name of Allymay Bearpack who is very arrogant towards me keeps on sending me emails that the will not refund my account. At first she said I had signed a lease agreement then later on is saying that because I paid deposit it means that’s a verbal agreement to accept the lease. She carries on saying I’m liable for the whole duration of the lease. I have not entered into a lease agreement and was misled by their agent to say the flat will be in good condition only to find no one can be able to stay there while not even able to use the bathroom. On last minute I had to put y things at a storage facility, also had to make plans that I’ll be traveling from Durban to PMB daily. I’ve been inconvenienced out of my way; having to deal with them has brought me severe stress. Up until now they still refuse to refund my deposit yet they failed to deliver on their part to get the flat in good condition, now they are robbing me of thousands.
