Urgent Formal Complaint – Hygiene & Pest Issues at Nando’s Roodebasin

I am writing to formally lodge a serious complaint regarding two highly concerning incidents that occurred at Nando’s Roodebasin, Roodepoort on 22 December 2025 at approximately 19:55 (referenced on my receipt for R551.00).

1. Unhygienic Conduct by Staff

While placing my order at the counter, I was served by a staff member named Sanele (as reflected on my transaction receipt). During the interaction, she scratched inside her nose while directly attending to me. This behaviour is completely unhygienic, inappropriate, and unacceptable in any food service context.

When I expressed my discomfort by saying I hoped she did not handle food, her response was dismissive, stating:

This showed a lack of professionalism and disregard for food safety standards.

When the order needed to be voided and the manager, Rose, intervened, I asked whether this was acceptable practice. While she acknowledged that it was not and offered an apology, the staff member Sanele then walked away with a hostile attitude and only rinsed her hands briefly instead of washing properly with soap and water.

2. Pest Issue While Dining

While consuming my meal at the restaurant, a ****roach appeared at my table. This is extremely concerning and suggests a failure in basic cleanliness and pest control standards.
