Theft at Nando's and Management too busy to come out.
My friend and i went cycling and we thought it was a good idea at the time to go and have lunch at Nando's Roodebasin (Cnr Hendrick Potgieter and Jim Forche).
We parked our cars on the Eastern side of the Nando's building next to the Honda dealership. The Nando's guard was on the parking lot and the Honda security guard was also insight sitting on the wall next to the parking lot.
My friends bike was on the bicycle carrier on his car. We went in the shop for lunch and we though our vehicles and property was safe.
On our return to the cars after an hour or so, we noticed that the bicycle on my friends car was missing. This is a Titan bicycle he bought two or three months ago to train for Discovery 947. The big expensive red Bicycle was missing.
We call the two guards (Nando's and Honda guards) to ask if they saw anything and to understand how a bicycle would go missing.
Well the guards gave their standard answer that they saw nothing. We then went in the restaurant to ask to speak to the manager and request for camera footage.
We then got a shock of our lives. A staff member then advised that we should speak to him because the manager is very busy ......
He then advised that this Nando's building only has camera's at the entrance and by the drive through. The eastern side has no cameras belonging to Nando's and the cameras that we saw are owned by Honda and they do not work. They have been broken for a while.
The staff member further advised that there has been muggings and the suspects always parks at the eastern side of the building where there are no cameras.
This became very concerning to us as it now seems that there is theft happening at the restaurant and the restaurant does not seem to be bothered. We requested for the manager again and we were got another staff member.
We were actually very disappointed and we had high regard for the brand but after how we were treated and just from the disrespect from the manager that said a lot.
So how does this work how is a restaurant manager to busy to talk to their customer?
How is the restaurant manager happy to have theft taking pace in their door step and not bothered.
We are really disappointed, we really expected better from Nando's and if this is how Nando's operates than they have lost us and our families as customers as from today.
Our Dream to cycle Discovery 94.7 is now shattered and thanks to Nando's and their busy manager as well as the blind guard that offers a false sense of security.
My advise to the customers is that please go to alternative restaurants that actually care about you and well being and not only your money.
We will used today, we spent R242 and we lost over R10k through theft at thier premises and no one cared.
We opened a case with SAPS but without Nando's cooperation we do not have much to go on.
