Staff at the Nandos in Bruma
When I walked into Nandos today I had noticed that there was no one at the till, I gave them time as I watched the menu but still no cashier, as I was about to walk out one of the cashiers casually walked out to the till and started attending with no apologies. nonetheless, I ordered my food and had a seat at the patio tables. I do completely understand the relaxed Nandos culture that allows staff to eat at the tables but I felt very uncomfortable when they started sharing my table. they had a seat and started eating their food when I was yet to receive mine which was taking longer than usual. I could hear the staff snickering and saying that I am looking very irate because my food has not arrived, it did eventually. I had ordered chicken strips and spicy rice and the staff member next to me told her colleague that she has tried chicken strips and spicy rice yesterday and it was awful it was not for her which made me even more embarrassed to sit there. I tried to call the manager and tip her but the cashier said she is somewhere around and didn't bother to call her. I do enjoy Nandos but I was very disappointed today.
There's more to Nando's than delicious PERi-PERi chicken. Although that's a big part of it, we also like to ruffle our feathers about the exceptional experience we create on the whole at our restaurants across South Africa and the world.
