Nandos no trolley allowed due to the possibility of their cheap line furniture might get damaged in a mall is the stupidest rule I've come across.
Today I was shopping alone in Checkers Pavillion. When I got out with a little over R5500 groceries, I decided to buy Nandos for my family at home. When I got to Nandos the staff was extremely rude telling me that no trolleys are allowed in the store. I tried to explain to the manager that I cannot leave R5500 at a place where the trolley cannot be seen and walk all the way into the store to purchase a family meal. I asked if I could leave the trolley at a place at the front of the store where it doesn't affect any other customers and the lady that's sanitising the people coming in the store can overlook. The manager said no the rules are that no trolleys be allowed into the store and that's final, I tried to explain that I'm alone. Atleast if I had someone with me, I could have asked them to overlook whilst I made the purchase. The manager said that there is nothing she can do. I can go and buy my food where they allow trolleys but Nandos rule is that no trolleys allowed. So I asked if nandos will stand responsible if my trolley goes missing and they said no. I asked to speak to a higher manager and the manager called Mr Divesh Maharaj on his cellphone which first refused to speak to me then I forced the manager to let me talk to him. Mr Divesh Maharaj said the same thing. That customers where damaging the furniture so they stopped allowing and he doesn't care about my situation. It's rules and if I don't want to leave my trolley outside the store, I can't enter the store. I explained to him that I'll put this matter on hellopeter and I was told that I can go complain wherever I want. Then another manager from the store came to assist. Which said that I must give him the money and he will make the order for me. So I told him to get me the one full chicken meal lemon and herb. So he came back with the order within 2 minutes and said that he gave me another customers order so I assumed lemon and herb. When I got home I see he gave a Hot Chicken order where my kids couldn't eat. Not allowing trolleys in a mall is an extremely pathetic rule. In that few minutes there was 4 customers complaining and 99% of the store was empty whilst customers where being chased away. Obviously management with no customer or business skills. Nandos should change to bring a circles cause you guys only hire Clowns as Management.
