Nando's dirty and shoddy service
First visit to Nando's Malibongwe Drive, Randburg. Stopped in quickly to have a family meal for my daughters 18th birthday. What a circus! I thought we may have unknowingly stepped in to a prank show or an episode of Faulty Towers. Placed and ordered and found a table to sit down at. Food was served quote promptly, server arrived with the food with two plates, although there were 4 people dining, he advised that there was a shortage of plates, it was strange as there were only 3 or so table occupied at the time. I sent back one of the knives at the same time as it had lettuce remnants from the previous diner. I assumed that he would arrive with side plates or something else for us to use, nothing! Eventually our carafe of drinks were served along with glass that still had dishwashing powder granules still on them. I had to to the front counter to ask for plates and gave the soiled glass to the supervisor. The food did not have the extra sauce that was requested and it had to be sent back for a top up before we could eat. The restaurant was not busy, so I cannot understand the poor service rendered. Maybe the staff are unhappy and don't want to be thee. Nando's charges a premium compared to their competitors i.e Pedro's etc, and it's no wonder that their stores are promptly closing in areas where Pedro's open. I was appalled that a special lunch was a marred by the shoddy service and zero management bothered to check up. The Cresta branch at least has some manager on the floor that checks in. My first and last visit to that branch. Would be interested to know the reason for the lack of plates and unhygienic store.
