Manager Joe Rude!
[08/22, 17:37] Ashura: It's not a Popeye business (i still wonder what her meant by this) and he must do it we can't by now based off the way he was speaking to us we both were irate and asked his details to which he responded well you can see my name is Joe pointing to his name badge we asked for the store details and he casually walks away as he doesn't know the store number when he returned we asked the email address as well and again he walked away as he doesn't even know that! When he returned I asked what the name of his area or regional manager is and he was so rude and raised his voice while saying I SAID THAT'S NOT HOW WE DO THINGS HERE I TOLD YOU BRING THE THINGS TO ME I MUST DEAL WITH IT [08/22, 17:44] Ashura: After he raised his voice clearly we realized he has no customer service skills and that it would just be one endless argument we walked out of the restaurant with still no resolution
Now we all trying and struggling amidst a worldwide pandemic.. people are struggling financially and although we too struggle what was supposed to be a lovely afternoon with my sister was a terrible lunch, terrible food, terrible service and the worst after service ever..
I hope that there will be some sort of training provided for Joe Rude manager at Promenade... Training that provides any other information beside trying to force customers to do surveys to review the false great service her provides or perhaps training on how to memorize is stores information.. Heavens even training on how to speak to another human being let alone a customer whmould be appreciated..
I anticipate a response from whoever is in charge of Nandos Promenade

On Monday 16th Aungust 2021 my sister and I had a celebratory lunch at Nandos in Promenade, as it was my birthday my sister said she pay the bill and once we ordered she paid using her card and although on the card terminal it showed APPROVED the cashier insisted it declined.. The cashier called the manager who said no the funds hasn't won't leave her account and that she must pay again... Not wanting to spoil the lunch we planned she proceeded to pay a second time and was assured the first payment was unsuccessful but she should retain her till slip if it does (which he still insisted won't happen)
Now before I even get to the actual complaint lt me just point out the service at Nandos Promenade is by far the worst service I have ever encountered at any restaurant, the food we ordered was sent out, my 1/4 chicken was smaller than a single piece of chicken and I asked if I could get a different 1/4 piece..the result??! Me getting an even smaller piece of chicken by the time my food arrived my sister had finished her meal and our mojito hasn't even been served by the time I was halfway done with my meal I asked the waiter when will we receive our mojito to which he casually responded 'oh the other worker just went out to get sprite as we don't have' no apology nothing.. When we finished out meal our mojito arrived which we finished the manager came up and half begged us to complete the survey at the end of the till slip and because not me or my sister are people to complain or give bad reviews especially amidst a covid pandemic we politely declined and he insisted until we left..
Fast forward to Wednesday 18th August, BOTH TRANSACTIONS goes off SUCCESSFULLY from my sisters account and we arrange to meet up at the restaurant Saturday when we both available.. Now I do work in a bank and I understand things sometimes happen but the attitude of the Manager Joe and way he handled the entire situation was absolutely disgusting.
We walked in and requested to see the manager he came to us with no introduction just a simple yes 'you called me?' My sister started explaining that we were there Monday and midway her sentence he said yes I remember the ladies who didn't do the survey and pointed to where we sat in the restaurant she tried to e plain to him that the funds was deducted twice and he kept interrupting us which obviously was annoying.. He refused to listen to us and kept saying we must bring a bank statement that he must send away to which we asked if it could be emailed because it's way to time consuming going into a bank to request one not to mention its another bank charge which is totally unnecessary.. We kept asking if there is a customer service that we can sort it out with or the head office details to which he responded very arrogantly, It's not a Popeye business (i still wonder what her meant by this) and he must do it we can't by now based off the way he was speaking to us we both were irate and asked his details to which he responded well you can see my name is Joe pointing to his name badge we asked for the store details and he casually walks away as he doesn't know the store number when he returned we asked the email address as well and again he walked away as he doesn't even know that! There’s more to Nando’s than delicious PERi-PERi chicken. Although that’s a big part of it, we also like to ruffle our feathers about the exceptional experience we create on the whole at our restaurants across South Africa and the world.
We would like to thank you for taking the time to submit your feedback to us through the Hello Peter website. Any comments we receive, both good and bad, give us the opportunity to improve the quality of our service so that it meets both our high standards and our customers’ expectations.
We have directed your feedback onto the relevant team who will get back to you in two shakes of a chicken’s tail.
PERi-PERily yours,
The Nando's customer care team
