Bad experience at Nando's Benmore Gardens
Last week Sunday, I visited Nando's for lunch. I ordered a Pita and Chips and 1/4 Chicken, Chips and a roll meal. Seeing the advert for R30 I was certain that I would be charged what was advertised. However, this was not the case as I was charged R62, as soon as I realised and joined the queue again I noticed that an order was placed after me for three 1/4 Chicken meals, Chips and a roll for a total of R90 (Confirming to me that the deal was not sold out).
After speaking to the cashier it was noted that I wasn't charged the the R30 because I requested a breast piece. I asked why did she not make me aware that I would be paying R32 more for a breast piece and she continued to explain the deal to me. I requested to look at the advert again and asked her to please show me where it says that I am only allowed a breast piece and she could not respond to me. I therefore called the manager.
In expectation of resolving my issue, not regarding a refund but rather accepting that they were wrong I was noted by the manager that I was wrong and that how can I expect an advert to say everything. My fiancè and I told the manager that this is false advertising however the manager continued to make us feel uncomfortable. We therefore chose to leave.
It is unacceptable to have a manager that has poor customer relations and an advert that is false.
I am really upset with the way this was handled. I understand that Nando's has a right to defend themselves however this was handled poor by the Benmore Gardens Nando's manager. This is not about R32...It was about the principle that was not understood.
