Naledi Cape Town - delivery at ox wagon speeds

My wife ordered orthopedic shoes from Naledi Cape Town on 18 March 2024. Naledi promise free door to door shipping on an average of 10 to 15 working days so delivery should be by 11 April 2024. Calls to the company confirmed the parcel has been dispatched on the day of order. They supp**** a tracking number. Tracking revealed that the item had been received by the delivery office in Gauteng by 4 April 2024 and given to the delivery agent by the morning of 10 April. A phone call to the courier service confirmed that the item was on route to the nearest post office to our address. On asking they could not confirm which post office this was as it will only come onto the system "on Monday" - 15 April. Unfortunately I could only give a rating based on service as we have yet to see if what we ordered met our expectations on what we saw online. Even more concerning is that it would appear we may have to collect the item from a post office. There are a few post offices still open but they are few and far between. I believe that Naledi is a Belgium company. They use Jet Park Speed Services as their couriers. This is a branch of Speed Services Couriers which is the new name for the old Post Office services. The post office services went out of business because of very very poor service. The Belgium company may expect postal services in line with what can be expected of European postal services but this is not the case in South Africa. Buy from Naledi is you wish but know that you will have entered a world of surreal uncer*****y not knowing when your goods will be delivered or if they will ever be delivered. However if you enjoy the thrill of absolute uncer*****y you are in for a treat. It's sad really because other online merchants have achieved delivery times to a few days and one we used to 4 days on an item that had been sourced overseas.
