Shocking exchange policy

I received an 18-24 m outfit for my daughter as a gift, I needed to exchange the outfit as my daughter wears 24 - 36 m clothing, the staff members informed me that they can no longer do exchanges without a slip to which I responded that I received the outfit as a gift and therefore do not have a slip as I find it rude to ask the purchaser for the receipt for a gift purchased! I was also informed that this policy only changed once Naartjie was bought over by Truworths! This is shocking customer service and leaves customers with expensive items of clothing that can't be worn!
