Naartjie won’t replace defective merchandise

I would like to strongly recommend against buying gifts from Naartjie:( last year when my twins were born I received a gift - 2 tracksuits size 12-18 months. Now that they big enough to wear them I noticed a manufacturing fault: the top has a side zip sewn incorrectly making it impossible to fit a head through. Note: this is not a small cut but is rather a defective item. I went to the store to ask for new tracksuits, but I was received with tremendous hostility and refused an exchange as the items were purchased last year! If a store sells defective merchandise at a premium price point it is their fault and responsibility to remedy for the unlucky people who bought this merchandise.
