CANNOT EXCHANGE GIFTS

I received Naartjie clothes for my daughter as a Christmas present. Unfortunately the sizes were wrong. The tags are still on the clothes. I went to Naartjie yesterday to exchange it for the correct size but was told that I cannot do so unless I have a slip??? I received it s a gift! I person who gave me the gift left the tags on so that I can exchange it if necessary. She does not have the slip. But now I am sitting with 2 outfits in excess of R700 that I cannot exchange. I am not asking for cash, just to exchange it or put credit on a gift card. This is truly ridiculous!!!
