Absolutely appalling customer service

<p>I'm a former customer and unfortunately after my latest experience will not be returning to any if your stores. I am pregnant and up until recently was under the misguided belief my new baby was a girl at my baby shower my mother who was visiting from the UK purchased a Tutu white baby slip for a girl. We found out the week later my baby was in fact a boy. I thought no problem the item still had the tag and the price on it so I would simply exchange the item for an item better suited to a boy. This is was told was impossible without the receipt. Let me clarify again, this was a gift. It was purchased by my mother who is lives in the UK there are various people who were in the shop with her who can vouch for the purchase which was transacted in cash. It was brought at Constantia village we live in Constantia. I was even happy to pay in more for a suitable exchange. I was however repeated told impossible my mother should have read the policy of return at the back of the slip she should have got at gift receipt. Basically everything that may seem obvious but unfortunately does little for my situation. The reality is this is a store with a Trueworths policy that desperately needs revision. Unfortunately punishing 95% of the population with such a policy because 5% may abuse returns is not at all and ideal business model. Coming from the UK such a policy is unheard of. The way I was addressed by the staff at the shop was also completely unacceptable. I was so upset by my customer service exchange I gave the item to a car guard. please let me clarify it's not about the R270 romper with frills it's about the principal and level of customer service. Unfortunately you have not only lost me as a customer you have also lost my entire friendship circle who will also no longer be shopping at Naartjie as there is acceptable and unacceptable and the manner to deal with customer exchanges. Having just found out I am having an unplanned gender makes me expecially sensitive and the way I was spoken to is unacceptable.<br />Never again.<br /><br /></p>
