Customer Experience Review for Mzansi Auto Worx

On 9 June, following a highway accident, I brought my vehicle to Mzansi Auto Worx for repairs. I paid R6,000 upfront for panel and mechanical work, with the understanding that the vehicle would be ready in 3 days. Unfortunately, the timeline was not honoured. The completion date shifted several times — Friday at 13h00, then 16h00, Saturday 9h00, 11h00, 13h00, 15h00, and 16h30. I was later told to collect it Sunday morning, only to find out from the owner that no work had been done during that period. When I finally received the vehicle on Thursday (10 days later), significant faults remained: misaligned suspension, missing brackets, and non-working lights on the repaired side, not to mention the panel beating work — all posing road safety risks. Due to concerns about handling, I took the vehicle to Dekra. Their inspection confirmed the issues. I shared photographic evidence with the owner. Despite multiple verbal refund promises (including on WhatsApp), no refund has been made. I have tried to resolve this directly and given ample time. At this point, I feel it is necessary to share my experience. Advice for others: • Avoid upfront payments without clear contracts. • Confirm timelines in writing. • Always get a post-repair inspection. • Be aware of other complaints. This is not about harm — it's about helping others avoid the same stress and loss. I hope sharing this helps others make informed choices.
