The review is defamatory. Herewith my testimony of the events after to purchase of the Yorkie puppy in discussion. I advertised a Biewer Yorkshire Terrier puppy on the 28th of January 2025 for R8500. On the 30th of January Jerry Joubert’s daughter, Shané Joubert, contacted me in connection with this advertised puppy and asked if they could come and view the puppy. I told them that they are welcome to come for a viewing. They arrived just before 12h30. The puppy was playing outside on the lawn, and they were incredibly happy with the puppy. It was purchased for her mom, Ursula Joubert. She video called her mom and made payment via eft. They were just a bit worried that the puppy was going to grow up to be bigger than her mom wanted so I told them that I would fetch this puppy’s little brother and then they could see the whole litter is quite small in size. I fetched the smaller brother, and they immediately fell in love with him. I told them that he was not advertised yet, thus not ready to go yet. Shané begged me to entrust them with the puppy. I informed her that this little boy has not yet been vaccinated due to his very small size. He weighed under 500 grams. The smaller puppies get vaccinated once their weight reach 500g. She said her mom knows how to raise small animals and he would be in the best hands. Shané also told me that her aunt is a veterinarian and that if they struggled, they would immediately take the puppy to her. She would also vaccinate him when he is a bit bigger. She also phoned her. I brought the mommy of the puppies out and both the puppies drank vigorously from their mommy. None of the puppies displayed any health issues. After a long discussion and instructions, I told them that if they take this puppy, it will be at their own risk. They also signed a purchase agreement where this is stipulated. I also told them that I sell smaller puppies at a higher price because then I know that the buyer will take more responsibility. They agreed and deposited the extra R2500. All this happened in front of my sons’ fiancé. She witnessed everything. They contacted me on their way home and told me that the puppy got car sick. I told them to give him a bit of Nutrostim so that he feels a bit better after the car trip. Shané told me that they took him to the aunt who is a veterinarian, and she also indicated that it was from the car ride and that he wasn’t showing any sign of dehydration. Later I asked how he was and Shané told me that they struggled a bit to get him to eat but he drank water on his own and that he was playing and running around. They also bathed him and named him Beethoven. The next day I asked how things are going. Shané said that he ate very well. His tummy went well, and he also urinated normally. I contacted Shané’s mother as well, Ursula Joubert, and she thanked me and sent me photos of little Beethoven. She also contacted me the next day about his registration which I did there and then and forwarded it to her so that she could do the transfer of ownership. I really went beyond by regularly enquiring on how he was doing and gave advice as I have been breeding Yorkies for more than 25 years. In hindsight I should never have trusted them. The aunt was no vet and obviously the mother didn’t know how to prevent hypoglycaemia. On the vets’ invoice you can see the puppy’s glucose was low and required intervention. As soon as I realized that the puppy’s health is deteriorating, I asked them nicely to please bring him back immediately. On the 2nd of February Shané messaged me and told me that the puppy wasn’t eating and they were at the vet. Not her aunt but another vet which made me wonder why they didn’t take him to the aunt?? They said that they tested the puppy for all sorts of things and test result came back for Canine Corona virus. I told them that the other puppies were vaccinated with the Vanguard 5 in 1 plus Corona vaccine (live virus), which cause them to shed the modified virus and most probably it was this that was detected by the vet's test. Canine Coronavirus is usually short lived but can cause abdominal pain. Beethoven's small size likely made his immune system struggle with this. Active coronavirus was not detected on the property after testing. It is possible that exposure occurred due to vaccine shedding. Very small puppies can get extremely ill if they do not eat and their blood sugar drops (Hypoglycemia). Then their whole immune system struggles. I requested once more that they return the puppy immediately, as some veterinary clinics do not offer around-the-clock care and attention to puppies. I am knowledgeable in treating, feeding, and caring for puppies. The next day after I enquired how he was Ursula said the vet said he could go home. I begged them AGAIN to bring the puppy back to me until he regained all his strength. Despite the purchase agreement, they refused to return the puppy. I have the signed agreement/contract available for viewing. I also have proof of all communication between myself, Shané and Jerry Joubert. As well as the mother Ursula Joubert. Unfortunately, I cannot attach anything to this letter because your application does not allow attachments. I was constantly chatting to them, initially to enquire about how the rehoming is going and later for support as well as requests to bring him back for a couple of days. I have proof of ALL of this. I also have testimonies from the person that bought the original advertised puppy, the brother of this puppy, which states that his health is 100 percent. No Corona or any other issues. This puppy went to a client in Durban a few days later. All the puppies sold during this period were and still are fine, only Beethoven experienced these issues. He would have been alive and well if they just listened to me and returned him to me. I did what I could to assist and help them until they did not want my help anymore. I must admit that I lost patience with them at some point as I did not want a healthy puppy to die in the hands of people with less experience and little affection. Please get back to me regarding this as the Jouberts’ statement is mostly false resulting in my business suffering because of false accusations.
