Misled information and making me the villian!

In December 2024, I decided to enter debt review due to my financial situation while searching for permanent employment. Unfortunately, the promises made by My Debt Hero did not hold true. They struggled to negotiate with my creditors, and the debt amounts for my home loan, credit card, and car premium continued to rise.

We agreed on a monthly payment of R11,005.00 to be deducted from my bank account starting in February 2025. However, all my creditors halted their debit orders, including my car premium, which I ended up paying in full via EFT in January 2025. When February arrived, the agreed amount of R11,005.00 was successfully deducted from my account, leading me to believe everything was on track.

However, I was shocked to find that my car premium was deducted again, leaving me with only R60 in my bank account. I reached out to My Debt Hero for clarification, and their response was that the first two payments were allocated to debt counselling and legal fees, meaning my creditors would only start receiving payments from the third month. They assured me that this is standard practice and that the creditors are aware of it. Then why did ABSA took the car premium in February and not in January? Something is not right!

I am disappointed with my experience and feel misled about the process. The system is not functioning as it should. I've found four job opportunities, but now I'm left with only R60 in my bank account. This experience has made me feel like I'm resorting to desperate measures when all I wanted was assistance.
