Worst customer service ever
Good day Thank you for taking the time to review my Complaint. I would like to lay a misrepresentation complaint against MVIA insurance. On the 21st of August 2021 I took out a motor vehicle extended warranty with Motorvaps as my car's motor plan had lapsed but still felt a strong need to keep the vehicle covered as it is my pride and joy. The warranty that I had taken out was a mechanical warranty should I have any mechanical troubles with my vehicle. I wanted to make sure that I would be covered for such which since the inception of the plan I have not encountered any problems as the vehicle is parked most of the time and I hardly ever use it. my intention is to persevere the vehicle and keep it as a classic or vintage On the 16 May 2022 I called MVIA to take out my second short term insurance to cover the said vehicle service meaning the usual consumables e.g. oil, filter, plugs, brakes etc. In the call while requesting for the product I make mention of how I would like a product that would also cover brakes as I understand just how important it is to have a fully functional vehicle and safety is very important to me as I am a family man. I had asked if the brakes would be covered and the sales person advised that they will be covered and this was one of the reasons you opted for this particular cover, full coverage. On the 25 of September I then made a call to MVIA to check if all is well on their side as my vehicle service light had come on for the 1st time after maybe 2 years for a minor service. I was advised that I should not despair and should take the vehicle in as I am a premium client and all should be well and covered. It was also mentioned that I qualify to take my vehicle in at a manufacturer for service. I then made a call to Mercedes-Benz Constantia which is my closest manufacturing agent to my home and made a successful booking for the 26th of September 2022. Upon Mercedes assessment of the vehicle a quotation for brakes and tie rod ends and the usual oil, filters and plugs was sent to MVIA. MVIA then only authorised subsidy payment of the tie rod ends and minor service excluding the brake pads and brake discs. This came as both a huge surprise and embarrassment to me as I had called them to check with them and they assured me that my cover should suffice as it's a premium cover and at the back of my mind I was clear that when I activated the service cover I had requested the absolute best cover that would cover all consumables and the sales agent had assured me that I'm activated on the absolute best cover for my vehicle in our verbal agreement on the call. At the moment I feel MVIA has taken advantage of me and over sold a product to me and now they are blatantly telling me that there is nothing they can do for even though they agree the agent did agree that the cover does cover my brakes and docs in the sales call on the 16th of May 2022. As a consumer I made a specific mention of the brakes as this was one of the grounds that led to my entering into a contract with them, had brakes being excluded I clearly would not have agreed to this and as a consumer I cannot suffer the consequence of their staffs mistakes or lack of training on the products offered. I am entitled to a service I was presented with and a service I undertook on the basis of its contents.
