Tyres 4 Life plan

I initially purchased tyre cover from MVIA, clearly informing the consultant that I had runflat tyres. I was fairly certain I had asked to be covered at any replacement workshop, but I do accept full responsibility for not verifying the policy wording, which clearly states cover is only available at Tiger Wheel & Tyre (TWT) and Tyre & More. The consultant also mentioned a R1000 cancellation fee if my claim ended up being less than the total contributions I had made.

When I needed to make a claim late last year, I faced significant issues getting it processed through TWT. After two weeks of back-and-forth and being without a car, MVIA finally stepped in and assisted with the tyres. Throughout this process, I received conflicting information from MVIA—first they said I could use a different service provider, then they backtracked and said I couldn’t. My total claim was R9169.99, while I had been paying R529.85 per month since the policy’s start in July 2023.

This experience left a bitter taste in my mouth. On February 3, 2025, I decided to cancel my policy and was told I would be charged R2318.32, but MVIA could not explain how they calculated that amount. Despite multiple emails asking for clarification, they have not responded. The only good service I received was at the point of sale—after that, I got nothing but frustration.

I suggest to all, put away money in your own capacity for tyres...
