Disappointed client

I have an extended warranty with MVIA. 10 days ago I was unable to select the gear in my car so I had it towed to a RMI workshop for an assessment. Upon assessing the car the found the pressure plate and releasor bearing damage and this was caused from the clutch fork damaged.

So the workshop recommended that a new clutch kit and clutch fork be installed. So I proceeded with the claim. After a online claim was submitted I called in to follow up and was told to email everything through to quicken the process and that was then done. I was then told that everything was with the assessors. I kept following up and then today I was eventually told the claim was rejected cos the clutch fork was not broken into 2 pieces and this is then wear and tear.

From my understanding a clutch fork is not a wear and tear item and I tried telling this to the agents and I was told there is nothing they can do as it is not broken. But these are components covered by the policy. I then dispute this and was sent an email stating the following:

The natural wear and tear of vehicle components due to regular use are not covered by the warranty policy (Annexure A: Page 21 of 32 Excluded from Cover – 14. Wear & Tear). Vehicle parts, no matter how well they were originally manufactured, are subject to gradual wearing down over time due to their regular usage. This gradual deterioration, commonly known as wear and tear, is an expected consequence within a vehicle's lifespan (Annexure A: Page 04 of 32; Wear & Tear). Because a vehicle part no longer functions as it’s supposed to, it does not always lead to breakage of the component. If a covered component does not physically break but has declined in its functionality, this will be categorized as standard vehicle maintenance (Annexure A: Page 04 of 32; Functionally Deficient [Worn Out]). Vehicle maintenance falls outside the scope of coverage provided by the warranty product (Annexure A: Page 03 of 32; What does a warranty cover?). Vehicle maintenance is required over and above the servicing, where vehicle components do not have a specific scheduled service interval but rather to be replaced due to the component being worn out as a result of its normal usage and age and therefore reaching the end of its lifespan (Annexure A: Page10 of 32; Vehicle Maintenance). However, in this specific event, the clutch did not suffer a Mechanical Failure(that means the component suffers a physical breaking, cracking, or separating into pieces), as defined in the policy wording (Annexure A: Page 13 of 32; Failure as a result of Wear & tear

This was really disappointing and frustrating cause I've been paying my policy and now when I need to use it there's an issue. Why sell a product when you can't render properly service to your clients.

I will never recommended anyone to use them. All the do is add more stress to you.
