You pay for what you don't get for !!!!!

After almost 7 months after my claim were lodged M&F decided to pay out my claim after I replaced the insured phone out of my own pocket with a iphone for R17 000 (I send the receipt to M&F on their request) As I can't wait for 7 months without a phone since it's my business phone and I deal in international hunters and being in contact with potential clients thus for I replaced it firstly as I know that there were absolutely NO way that I could be out of contact with clients as a result of thousands of potencial income loss and damaging my name in the field and 2ndly as I know that there were nothing sinister about the claim and thought it would be settled swiftly as promised by my broker and M&F !!!! NOT !!!! After paying a premium for a Samsung S6 edge which were replaced by a S7 and my policy amended for the newer model as well as a premium increase for that from R13 000 - R17 000 for the replacement value as I were advised by my broker to always update my policy if new models or replacements are available and thats what I've been doing ! After7 months M&F decided to compensate me with R9500 less my access of R500 or a replacement of an S6 which they sorced from a dupplier. That after I replaced the insured phone and sending them the receipt. Why did I pay for insurance for R17 500 if M&F decides what they will settle ? I feel misled and that I payed under false pretences a increased premium. Is this the way that insurance should be ? Take it or leave it ????? This is a complete ******* !!!!!!
