Worthless home insurance, not to be trusted.

A while back the galvanised steel water pipe leading to our house sprung a leak, The pipe is more then 40 years old and this is the second time we've had a leak. We contacted a local plumber, who did the leak detection and then replaced the entire pipe. Lodged a claim with OMI, who sent around their plumbers to assess. They now insists that replacement was not necessary (apparently they subscribe to the Municipal maintenance philosophy - just patch) so are only willing to pay about 10% of the claim! This issue has now dragged on for 6 weeks. Insurance like this is worthless.
