worst service ever from insurers

after heavy rains in PE near end April I submitted a claim with Bettersure. They wasted no time in getting the accessor out to the premises after the outbuilding roof just about collapsed under the rain. the claim was submitted to Old Mutual on 30 April - I'm still waiting - every time I phone Bettersure I'm told they're waiting for feedback - How long am I supposed to wait? we have a severe weather warning with heavy rains for the next 4 days starting tomorrow. what do I do now? Surely if they didn't want to honor the claim they should've let me know so I could get the repairs done. Now, because we are waiting for Old Mutual - it's too late! What legal steps can I take?
