Worst Experience Ever - Mutual&Federal

On the 23rd of October I had lodged a claim with Mutual&Federal, the claim was for 3 cellphones which were ******. This insurance company has really disappointed me, especially since I have never missed a payment. It took them 2 and a half weeks to process the claim and I still have not been paid out fairly. I was initially asked to cover my items including my accessories and that was a total of R14 000, they are only paying me out R9 100, I have no idea where in the world they got quotes from cause none of them actually match the actual prices of any of the accessories that we had, I was at the Menlyn mall yesterday and I check in several different shops for an anti-shock body glove, gorilla glass screen protector and 32 gig SD memory cards and not a single place was anywhere close to the quotes that my insurance company got in order to not pay out the actual insured value of my items I just don’t understand why we are asked to insure our items for what we paid for them because at claim stage the quality of items you had doesn’t matter because the insurance company will get a quote for the cheapest price of the same item, the quality is not the same. It does not end there, the delivery company was clearly instructed to contact me via email because I don’t have a phone for them to call me on, they chose not to contact me and end up at the wrong address to deliver the voucher. What a nightmare it has been with this company, however thank you Mutual& Federal for showing me that you are an insurance company not to be trusted. I will be taking this further with an ombudsman complaint.
