Will not pay to re-patriate vehicle from Namibia even though it is supposedly fully covered.

Currently having a very bad experience with Old Mutual Insurance. My pensioner mother had travelled to Namibia on holiday and informed them of her trip. They provided her with a letter that she is fully covered for the duration of her trip, however now that she has had an accident they are not helping much.

Even though Namibia is on their list of countries where you are FULLY covered they are saying we need to re-patriate the vehicle to South Africa at OUR cost first before they can do anything. This is very contradictory of their policy which specifically includes Namibia as a country along with some other neighbouring countires as fully covered, with mention being made if you have an accident in any OTHER country then you are responsible for the costs.

My mother is besides herself as she cannot afford to pay for the costs of re-patriation of the vehicle, so on top of the trauma from the accident, we have this to deal with as well.

I would certainly not recommend that anyone insures with Old Mutual Insure.
