Unreliable company that uses any excuse to reject a claim

People, be warned. Old Mutual Insure is not reliable and would use any reason to reject your claim. I came back from holidays this January and found my fridge and washing machine not working. I logged a claim with Old Mutual Insure, the insurance I have been with for the past 13 or so years. Today I received a call from the claim handler, Palesa Moletsane telling me my claim for these items has been rejected. The reason for the rejection of the fridge is wear and tear, and for the washing machine, its because the motherboard was damaged by ****roaches. Now, the wear and tear for the fridge is understandable, but I need to understand if Old Mutual Insure expected that I hire security guards or a certain system to watch over the ****roaches or avoid having them crawl into my place and doing whatever they felt they needed to do?. Fumigations are being done on a monthly basis in this building I stay in. I take precautionary measures of buying different powers, sprays, doom, etc. to ensure that there is always something chasing them away, and now I am being rejected by the insurance as if the damage was caused by my negligence. How does this even make sense? I was on holiday, how or what other measures could have one taken except leaving the flat having used the roach powders and sprays? How is this even fair on me? After 13 years of being with this insurance and never claiming household contents, and I am being held responsible for the existence of coackroaches in this life? Did I create ****roaches? The assessor himself saw multiple itims I use here for controlling these on top of the fumigations being done. He opened a machine and saw dead ****roaches and assumed they were the cause of the damage. You walk in this falt and you find boracic powder, bircarbonate of soda in every corner used to chase these ****roaches? and the claim hanlder had the audacity to say maybe the fumigators are not using the right products or I should use more products. What kind of nonsense is that? Would I enjoy staying with ****roaches or any other insects, even loosing big items?. Please stop taking people lightly and stop undermining us. This insurance uses anything as an excuse not to pay a claim. They are not just paying funeral claims. They will even use mosquitoes as an excuse so not to pay a claim yet they enjoy collecting money from you every month. People, please opt for better and reputable insurances not this company. Imagine paying insurance for such a long time to get a slap in the face like this. They are not reliable; do not make the same mistake of being loyal to this company. If you are with them, leave now.
