My Name is Peterson Dibuseng Mohau; I have an insurance policy with Mutual and Federal, I have insured my household goods, cell phones and my photography equipment (camera).

On the 6th of June I got ****** at gun point in Khayelitsha, my photography equipment (Camera) and my Cell phone, on the 7th June I then open the case at Khayelitsha police station, on the 8th June I lodge a claim for my equipment, Policy: ********** 71 and a Claim no ********** 24. On the 12th I was sent an e-mail stating that my claim was handle by a lady called Winile Nkosi, on the 14th June I then sent an e-mail wanting to know the progress of my claim, this was her answer “Please be advice an investigator has been appointed”

I then received a call from the lady called 'Shireen Visagie' enquiring about my claim and asking for documentation (Please also provide the blacklisting document for the cell phone, We need a letter from your service provider stating the model of the phone, IMEI number and the ITC(blacklisting number and a police report) I provided her with that information. On the 22nd I receive this message from Shireen (Good day Mr Mohau, We have appointed our specialist investigations department. They will obtain the necessary documents from the police and contact you for an interview?

On the 23rd I received an e-mail from a gentleman called “Walter Theys seeking the same documents that I had already submitted to Shireen Visagie; bellow is e-mail coming from Walter.

Good day Sir

Please be advised that your claim has been referred to this office for validation.

I will contact you in due to course to arrange an appointment to validate your claim.

In the interim will you please obtain the following documents.

Proof of purchase for items claimed.
Copy of the police report for the *******.
Details of previous ******* cases reported
Proof of ITC report.
Confirmation of cellphone number and device, as well as name of the cellphone service provider.
I will also in due course be sending you documents requesting consent to obtain your cellphone records in order to trace the device.

All other information required will be discussed later.

Your earliest response will be appreciated

On the 28th June I received the bellow e-mail.

Dear Mr Pd Mohau

The assessment on your claim ********** 24 has been completed.

Kindly click on the below link to rate your service experience.

On the 6th of July I conducted an interview with Walter in which he wanted more evidence about my equipment, he wanted me to prove that indeed what I’m saying is mine it is mine as the equipment is too expensive for me not to have a proof of purchase when I had already explained to them that i lost documentation and it’s been more than six years that I have my equipment, he needed photos of my camera, me holding the camera and some of the work I had done using the camera, I supply that to him as well and an affidavit stating me as an owner of my photography equipment .

Walters e-mail:

Good day

Thank you for availing yourself to finalize the claim

Please attend to the following as requested:

Contact number details of your brother
Proof of purchase for new cell phone
Photographs of camera equipment( yourself and related pics taken)
Your assistance will be appreciated

The above was sent.

On the 19th July I sent an e-mail to both Walter and Shireen asking about the progress of my claim, up until now im being ignored, I think I fall in that bracket of black ******s mentioned by Miway that 90% of black people claims should be rejected.

May you please assist me in this regard.
