Pathetic Service and time wasted.

On 4th March 2021 I submitted a claim for my spare wheel that was ****** off my Ford Ranger. My broker assured me that I am covered under the clause for fitted accessories and spare parts, and that my excess would be R500. The claim was sent to Old Mutual insure the next day. On 5 March I got a mail saying that my claim has been successfully registered and is being processed. On the 8th I got an email saying my claim has been allocated to a lady named Patience. On the 11th I had heard nothing so I followed up with my broker. The feedback I got was that it takes up to 10 days to process a claim so I must wait another week. On the 12th I was asked to send photos of the damage ( There was none) as well as photos of my tyres on my vehicle?? I did this immediately and sent them in. That same day I got an email to say that the claim had been passed on to one of their business partners to obtain Quotes. ( I had already supp**** quotes when submitting the claim as per their request) The mail also stated that I would be contacted within 4 hours. 4 Days later, On the 16th I had heard nothing so I emailed them and got an automated response thanking me for the email, but not giving any answers. On the 17th I got my broker to follow up and got feedback that the claim was with their parts sourcing and they would finalise once they have a response. On the 24th March (another week later) I had heard nothing so followed up with Reef Insurance Brokers and the feedback I got was that Old Mutual Insure has escalated the claim to Samantha, the claims Liaison Consultant and she would revert soonest. On the 25th I was copied into an email where Old Mutual Insure apologised for the delay and then advised that the claim had now been passed on to another assessor for urgent assistance. Another 5 days later, On 30th March at 07h43 I was copied in to a mail that stated that the claim had now been passed on to a Lady named Gloria to handle the claim. 2 Hours later I got an email from Reef Insurance stating that my excess would not be R500 but in fact R4000, as Old Mutual Insure considers the spare wheel to be a fixture of the vehicle. The quote I had submitted in the first place was for the amount of R3373,15. It took Old Mutual Insure 26 Days and countless emails from my side to finally get this PATHETIC response. Thanks for nothing but a huge waste of time from Reef Insurance and Old Mutual Insure!!!
