Old mutual insure. Quoted almost half the premium without realizing I was already an existing client via hippo and refuses to rectify the gross overcharge of almost double the premiums

Disgusting Old Mutual. They overcharged me by almost 1000 per month for about 2 years. After realizing my premiums were way higher than a person with a similar vehicle I got hold of hippo to get some quotes. Without realizinv OM quoted me whilst I was an existing client via a broker. They utqted me telephonic ally and via email 1000 cheaper than what they were currently charging me. When I braught this to thier attention they tried to back track and accuse me of non disclose and every other excuse in the book because they were caught out... Even blaming the call center agent because she should not have quoted me as I was already on thier books. After countless phonecalls and requesting the taped recordings they admitted thier fault but did not agree that they owed me a refund. Instead a Snr manager called me to say he believed OM owed me an apology and that was reason for his call. It is now 5 months later and they are refusing to sort out this manner stating an apology for the oversight and bungle is in order. The broker did not have any luck either and the fact is that OM breaks the trust of brokers by quoting clients direct a way cheaper premium who are already insured by the house by Almost half! I would recommend that every client who works through a broker should go direct to compare what they are currently being charged. When I told the manager I would make this public knowledge as to what they are doing I was treated with legal action if I braught OM into any disrepute. Fortunately due to the Poppy act we can request recordings to prove everything that they so vehemently deny. It is disgusting that corporates like this take no responsibility or even try to rectify blunders and mistreatment of clients. They are bullies to say the least. I hope someone senior monitors these posts because the people who have represented OM on all levels I have dealt with over this are NOT upholding the high standard you claim to have.
