Old Mutual Insure does not deliver as promised

I feel terrible to take my 'issue' to the public, but with my first ever claim from OMI, I am horrified with their service.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic it is quite understandable that OMI would not be able to assess my vehicle, but I am shocked by their feedback, or in this case, my broker's feedback since OMI has been a no show ever since the claim was submitted on 4 July 2020. Today I find out that OMI received a quote from a panelbeater in Pretoria (note: I reside in Bloemfontein and the car is not even registered in Pretoria) and that based on the photos supp**** my co-payment will be nearly more than quoted for. This all seems to be understandable, until one delves deeper. After having visited several panelbeaters (yes, in Bloemfontein) and having explained my situation, each and every one of them seemed to be as baffled as I am, seeing as the damage is clearly a lot more than just the slightly more than my co-payment. Currently the quotes I have received are nearly six times that of what OMI has approved. Also, not having received any feedback from them is also testimony of how important they view their clients.

It saddens me, as I am a person who likes to give the benefit of the doubt, but I am truly appalled by the service of Old Mutual Insure and will highly recommend potential clients to rather look elsewhere.
