Insurance quotes

I am currently reviewing my insurance for household contents, builing, caravan and a vehicle. I received an acceptable quote from Old Mutual. When the consultant called me yesterday to finalize my policy, I informed them that they should remove the vehicle from the quote as I sold the vehicle to my son. The consultant advised me that in that case they will have to remove the caravan as well from the insurance quote as it is their policy that a caravan must be insured with a vehicle. This is not making sense to me as the vehicle in question is a small 1200cc hatchback that can not even tow my caravan. I use another vehicle to tow my caravan. I asked the consultant to explain whys this is and she could not answer me. This is a joke and I will now seek other insurance.
