Hard Drive ****** After Inspection Requested During Claim - No Further Feedback Received When Querying Its Whereabouts

We submitted a claim (i.e. ********** 55) to Mutual & Federal (M&F) for damaged and ****** items observed after a relocation of premises. An internal claims assessor (Dawn Grant) contacted us to arrange for a viewing of the items. One of the items was a computer that was no longer working and showed signs of damage during the move. An inspection of the computer was requested and the item was collected and taken to M&F offices. Some time later, we were informed that the machine was working (which we knew was an impossibility as we'd tested it ourselves) and that a claim for this item would not be entertained. The computer was later returned to us and was stored until we were able to afford repairs. When we tried to turn it on again recently it just went into BIOS mode and requested booting from a disc which we did not know how to resolve. We then took the machine to a local computer repairer and upon inspecting the item they showed and informed us that the machine did not have a hard drive inside. We then tried to contact M&F and the assessor to find out where this hard drive is that they failed to return but have not received any further communication or contact other than an automated email to say that the claim has been finalised and the document can't be processed. This hard drive contained purchased software as well as business and personal information that has now vanished due to M&Fs negligence. Be warned about what can happen to your goods in the event that you try and lodge a claim and an inspection is requested.
