Attitude towards pensioners

Pensioners DON'T INSURE YOUR ASSETS WITH OLD MUTUAL. I ensured with OLD MUTUAL, it so happened that I had to claim damages to my property resulting from burglary attempt. My security is TOPS. Cameras, Alarms, Beams, remote control gates, Trellidor burglar bars and security gates and a dog.

I am a pensioner and ALL insurance companies grants pensioners that they DONT PAY THE R1000 excess gee.(which is actually a handling gee) OLD Mutual Anette van Rooyen from Bloemfontein, advised that I, a 63 year old pensioner don't qualify. !!!! Well Anette I don't have a claim history with your company and not you or any employees suffer any losses, and without a doubt I am cancelling my insurance because of this petty issue. Your company are really pennie wise pound foolish. Losing a client about R1000. Which is not a favour it's common. Fact with other insurance companies. No excess.

At the end of the day it's the sad OLD story. The client is nothing, it's all about money money money. I will spread the word and warn my friends at our pensioners meetings monthly. to stay away from OLD Mutual. Or move their insurance, before they may have a claim and then discover OLD Mutual don't have the view point as all other insurer companies that pensioners don't PAY R1 000 excess gee.
