Absolute ******* by Mutual and Federal
My 1995 Toyota was written off due to hail damage. The car is insured for ~R20K and after R3k excess and 40% salvage fees (R8k), I am left with R9k to repair two tail lights (R 1 700.00 each), a door mirror (R 2 200.00) and back windscreen (R 1 500.00). This is beside having to repair every panel on the car which has been damaged by the hail sa well as my two bicycle carriers.<br> I have no choice but to buy the vehicle back as it has sentimental value as my late dad purchased this vehicle for me and I cannot afford another for R17k. The main concern for Mutual and Federal is that they would have got 40% from the salvage company had I not decided to purchase the vehicle back hence they deduct 40% for salvage. This is an absolute ******* which i am not prepared to accept. The main concern should be the insured hence we take out insurance. How on earth must I repair this vehicle with R9k? Who has been benefiting from premiums paid? Why should I pay salvage fees? I advise you not to support Mutual & Federal as they are absolute cheats. This is our third car written off and we have had much better service from the other Insurance Companies.
