A patch job with tiles that dont match
I had water damage in my house. Laminate flooring in 3 rooms and a hall, and hall cupboard, shower and main bathroom. This claim has now dragged on for 2 and a half months. Besides to tonne of confusion the current stance of OMI that I should either accept their quote and allow them the do the repair work or take the cash settled amount.
The problem is they want to replace the broken tiles in my shower and main bathroom with ones that wont look the same. Their position is that they only fix they dont do upgrades. I'm not looking for an upgrade but the original tiles in both my bathrooms fitted with each other and now I should accept a patch job.
How is this acceptable? How would I be able to sell this house with two bathrooms that have a few tiles that dont fit?
I've also contacted Old Mutual Insure on x because the people I have dealt with said there will be no further negotiation. I should either let them fix it or accept the financial settlement.
