Dear Mustek and recruiters, I need you to hear me.

I have been looking for work for a long time.

I have submitted countless applications. I have uploaded my CV, completed forms, answered screening questions and pressed “Apply.”

And then… silence.

Not even a “Thank you for applying.” Not even a “Unfortunately, you were unsuccessful.”

Just silence.

I understand that companies receive hundreds, sometimes thousands, of applications. I understand that recruiters are under pressure and cannot personally respond to everyone.

But I also want people to remember that there is a human being on the other side of every application.

I have experience.

I have worked in customer service, call centres, customer care, administration, facilitation and quality assurance. I have worked for MultiChoice, I have worked in hospitality, and I have gained experience dealing with people, solving problems and working under pressure.

I am not asking anyone to employ me because they feel sorry for me.

I am asking for one opportunity to prove myself.

Give me an interview. Give me a chance to sit across from you and explain what I can bring to your organisation.

If I am not the right candidate, tell me. I can accept rejection.

What is difficult is being invisible.

So I am putting myself out there publicly.
