I cannot express how disappointed I was with my recent experience at Mustang Sally in Hatfield. I had visited the restaurant quite some time ago and had very fond memories of it. I therefore thought it would be lovely to return, enjoy a meal, have a drink, and experience that welcoming atmosphere again. Unfortunately, this visit was extremely disappointing. Trying to make a reservation I tried calling the restaurant beforehand to reserve a table, as I remembered it always being very busy. Unfortunately, nobody answered the phone. The atmosphere When we arrived, there were literally only two tables occupied. The restaurant felt completely deserted – almost like a ghost town. There was no welcoming atmosphere and the staff were not friendly or engaging. The restaurant simply felt lifeless. The service at our table We sat down at our table, which still had crumbs on it. I politely asked the waitress if she could please wipe the table. Instead, she simply brushed the crumbs off the table and onto our laps. I found this extremely rude and unprofessional. Our drinks and food We ordered our drinks first. My son's beer arrived, but my daughter-in-law and I were still waiting for our Freezers. Our food then arrived before our drinks had even been served. I find it very disappointing when food is brought to the table while some of the guests are still waiting for their drinks. The food Unfortunately, the chips were cold. I must, however, give credit where it is due: the schnitzel was delicious and there was plenty of sauce, which we really enjoyed. Service to other customers What concerned me even more was watching another couple sit down at a table. After approximately 15 minutes, they simply got up and left without receiving any service whatsoever. Nobody greeted them, offered them a menu, or even approached their table. This was very disappointing to witness. My overall impression Sadly, I no longer feel that Mustang Sally is worth visiting. The friendly, lively and enjoyable atmosphere that I remember is simply no longer there. This is especially disappointing because Mustang Sally was once a place where you could go for good food, friendly service and a great atmosphere. What was once a diamond has unfortunately become a piece of coal. I sincerely hope that management will take this feedback seriously and look into the level of service and the overall atmosphere at the Hatfield branch. A restaurant can have great food, but without good service and a welcoming atmosphere, customers simply will not want to return.
