Very Painful After Sales

I purchased the Beats Wireless Solo 2 from Musica at the Mall of Africa in June 2016. Within a month I began experiencing problems where device could not be turned on. As the per Beats Website, I had to reset the device, which I did and this resolved the problem. However, within a few months the problem resurfaced and the reset no longer worked.

I then took the device to Musica at Cresta and was advised that they could not assist me as they did not have the paperwork to take the device in for repairs. I called the Musica call centre and was advised that I could claim a full refund as the item was less than 6 months old. However, the assistant at Cresta refused to do this. I then again called the call centre and had the shop assistant chat to the call centre agent. After the conversation she hung up and offered no further action. I then took the device back to Musica at the Mall of Africa on 28/11 where I was offered an exchange, but with no option for a refund. I settled for the exchange.

However, 2 weeks later, the problem resurfaced and I took the item to Cresta Musica once again (16/12/2016). Again I was refused a refund but was offered a repair option, which I agreed to. However, by the end of Decemeber, despite various follow ups, no progress was reported. On 30 December I went back to the store and discovered that the device was still in the store although I had been told it had been sent for repairs. I collected the device and took it back to the Mall of Africa where once again it was replaced (02/01/2017). At the end of January, the replacement device failed as well. I then took it back to the Mall of Africa and demanded a refund. The store manager promised to provide feedback within 2-3 days. However, I have not heard from him since.

I am now stuck with a very expensive device that does not work. I am not sure what my options are. I have no doubt that Musica is reneging on their warranty promises. Their after sales service really sucks.
