Mislead by Musica

I went to Musica at Cape Gate Shopping Centre to enquire about a warranty on my son's one Xbox One Controller that was problematic and I was advised that the warranty expired as it is only valid for 6 months. I advised that there is a One Year Warranty that is offered by all retailers on the controls and console but they advised me that it's not the case. I advised that the controller started acting up just as the lockdown started which at that stage we only had it for 8 months. When they opened up after the Level 5 lockdown I went to to the store only to be told that they can't assist me. Over the weekend my parents son purchased a game on-line and because he was under age, Microsoft called me to verify the purchase. While speaking to the consultant, I enquired about the controller and after they checked up the serial number of it I was advised that the controller was still under the 12 month warranty which expired at the beginning of July 2020. Micros advised that I return the controller to the retailer as they were supposed to assist me with a replacement.

What do I stand to do now. Its as if I was lead to believe I should purchase a new one so the store could make another sale from me.

Can someone with authority please call me to assist with this matter.
