Nurses with no heart.

The Postnatal care is one to be one of disgust. My grandbaby was born on the 9th August. Mom had a c section done.

She was not informed baby had a problem. She and all new moms had to stay in their ****** nighties and hadcto wait when nurses felt they will be given clean nighties. She was not shown and feeding techniques. Her stitches were not seen to.

On day 2 she was wanting to use the toilet and the cleaner demanded she gets out do cleaning could be done. The baby stayed in the nursery and she sat for hours on end trying to feed baby in her pain with no assisstance at all. Dr. Did not explain what was going on and this frustrated the mom. When she did finely asked, nurses turned their back on her and laughed. She does not know isiZulu, her English is also poor as she is Afrikaans speaking. She is an orphan without family clise by, she is experiencing terrible depression and its effecting the baby.

On day 4 she noticed baby foof was swollen and blue. There was a tube which was not connected to the foot properly but the tape was on very tight surving no purpose as tube was not connected to foot.

After a long drawn out week baby was discharged with then incorrect birth date 19th August, Town spelt wrong. When hospital was notified, reply was, "She can come and sit here on Wednesday and might be helped after everyone is seen to".

I am appalled with this treatment as its not the first time we have used the service of the hospital. Never have any family member treated this badly

Me posting this is for every new mom goung into the hospital in the future. I pray that the other wards are not luke this. Think about your chuld or loved one that has to go there, do you look away and accept this type of treatment or will you stand with me to try help others.
