<p>We are renting a house with a prepaid electricity meter from Mumbi Properties. So when we need electricity we buy tokens from FNB or Pick a Pay etc. We send the meter readings monthly to them to give to the Ekurhuleni which supplies the electricity. As we all know, prepaid meters works like this: the owner buys the electricity from the Ekurhuleni, and the tenant buys from the prepaid meter. What this rental agency now does is to bill us the Ekurhuleni electricity charges. From last year they will send us accounts of R20 000 and R17 000 for the Ekurhuleni electricity charges. They want us to pay more than triple for electricity. The owner is liable for these charges, as the money that we pay for the electricity are credited to his account. They also have the audicity to add late payment fees to these accounts of R676 each time. They are committing ***** and should be stopped!!</p>
