Multisat Installations overcharge excessively
I had to get new DSTV cables installed after the complex changed their previous rule of installing cables in gutters, to not have any cables in gutters, Multisat was contacted as the closest accredited installer of DSTV's supplier list. They don't give a quote until they get to the property and then also charge a call out fee. They had to install new cables (pvr and single view) and replace the LnB on the dish to be compatible with PVR and Explora. No new dish or decorder. They charged R2872.80 and I had to pay before anything was done, they didn't want to send the invoice to be paid afterwards. The invoice specify call out of 280, labour of 380, 2 cables at R760 (not very long cables, it's a small unit in a complex) Satelite LnB at R1100. We queried the price with them, and they said that they can charge what they want even if it is double or triple what other installers charge for the exact same thing. I contacted another supplier and got a quote as per their invoice, the other installer also from the accredited list came back with an amount of R1100 for all. A new installation with a dish and decoder included is way below what we had to pay just for cables and an LnB. The guy at Multisat also said that if I came to him sooner they might have been able to look at the price, but how does one go to him sooner when expected to pay before installation. I would not recommend any one to use Multisat due to their excessive prices for what you get.
