Shockingly Poor Quality Product - Disintegrated in less than 3 Months, Followed by bad Service with no assurance
I am writing to express my absolute disgust with both the quality of your products and the disgraceful customer service I have received. On July 5th, I purchased a White chest of drawers (MWBR9629A). It was delivered the following week, and we were meticulous with its setup, to the point that we were on a call with one ofyour own employees, Temba, who guided us through the assembly process. I must be crystal clear: this unit was used for light storage only—T-shirts, underwear, towels, and bedsheets. There were absolutely no heavy items in it. On October 1st, less than THREE MONTHS after purchase, we heard a loud crash from the bedroom. We walked in to find the chest of drawers had spontaneously collapsed and was broken into pieces. A piece of furniture should not simply disintegrate on its own after 12 weeks of light use. This is not wear and tear; this is a clear sign of a deeply defective, poor-quality product. As if the shock of a brand-new item falling apart wasn't bad enough, the customer service experience has been a nightmare. • When I first called, I was told the company would only replace the damaged boards if I agreed to pay for the shipping costs myself. Why should I pay to ship parts for your defective item? • My husband then called a few days later and was told the matter was "escalated" and that he should communicate directly with Temba. • This was a complete lie. When my husband texts Temba, Temba sends him right back to the main help line. We are being intentionally passed from pillar to post in an endless, frustrating loop. • Today, my husband called again and was given the most insulting response yet: they will try to look for the boards, and if they can't find them, "it means there's nothing they can do about it." This is an absolutely unacceptable resolution. You sold us a faulty product, and now you are trying to stall and run us around until we give up. To add insult to injury, your team is now trying to quote a "policy clause" that states if an assembled item is damaged, you can't replace it. I have searched your website, and this policy is NOWHERE to be found. You cannot invent a secret policy to avoid your responsibility under the Consumer Protection Act. We followed your assembly instructions with your own employee. Your product failed catastrophically in under 90 days. We have been patient, and you have met us with lies and runarounds. We demand a full replacement of the entire unit or a full refund. We will not pay for shipping, and we will not accept "we can't find the parts" as an excuse.
