The declining service of a once grand restaurant...

I was at the Sun Coast branch today and the service was pathetic to say the least. I walked in and waited to be seated for five minutes... I stood awkwardly while waiters passed by with not a care in the world... y did not even bother to come quickly and say please choose a table and we will be with you or perhaps acknowledge that I am waiting and that someone will help me to a seat. I don't know if they maybe saw one person and thought - great , won't be a very big cheque so let's just let him wait... in fact I am very convince this was the case as waitresses personally brought larger groups in and if a single person came in, he or she sat at a table without a waitress guiding them.

I finally got annoyed and found my own table sat down and waited a further five minutes for a waitress.

When one finally came, I told her I would be waiting for another person to arrive and I would just have a bottomless mocha java for now. She brought it timeously but just left me, not bothering to come through even after my guest had arrived. During the intervening time before she arrived again, I needed something but could not find her, I tried to get the attention of another waiter to no avail, even the manager was to 'busy' to come through when I flagged him. He never even bothered to come through and ask if everything was fine... I've been to this Mugg & Beans many many times and over the years I have noticed the standard of service has seripusly declined. I've worked as a waiter during my university days and I remember the manager's always drilling it into us that web must always be courteous and never rude. If we are flagged down by any customer we must attend to them asap. Is that not the case? On this particular day, it wasn't even very full. There must just be more focus on service rather than the ever changing menu...
