Poor food quality
Went to Mugg and Bean last night at Suncoast and left rather disappointed. Ordered the Kasbah salad which is new to the menu. I expect when I order an item of the menu, that it should get what I pay for and will eat. If the restaurant does not have the proper ingredients, rather inform me beforehand, and not take a chance by passing something else off. It states on the menu that the salad comes with hummus, M&B potato roll croutons, parsley, mint to name but a few items. Dish is presented with no hummus and was substituted with a vinaigrette dressing, and slices of bread rolls which were the furthest thing from a potato crouton, no parsley or mint. I'm pretty sure I could not see or taste it in the salad. Asked the waiter to take it away and thought I would have better luck with the Moroccan butternut and chickpea salad. Yet another disaster. Menu stated candied walnuts, and roasted butternut. What do I receive. Walnuts soaked in water, limp as can be, not candied. Not fresh at all. Cold boiled chopped butternut straight out of the fridge. No pride whatsoever in food preparation. Whatever happened to making fresh food and having staff who know what the items are on a menu instead of me explaining what a crouton or candied walnut are. Having two food orders messed up when you are really hungry leaves you wondering how can one mess up such simple dishes. How many people actually pay attention to what they read on the menu and what they actually receive. Or are people to caught up in conversation to notice, or feel the presentation makes up for the lack of service delivery. Truly a disastrous visit here. Train all your staff accordingly in how to work in such an environment. Don't take a chance with diners who know better.
