Disappointing Management

Was at Canal Walk Mugg and Bean with family members after shopping, whereby I bought my younger sister Mcdonalds. I kindly asked the waiter if she is able to eat the McDonalds whilst we were having coffee in Mugg and Bean, whereby the waiter said it was fine and even offered to bring us a side plate for her.

Upon me fetching the McDonalds in our trolley we left by Mugg and Bean a manager by the name of Stuart rudely asked me "I hope you not eating that McDonalds in MY restaurant!!" and i informed him that " I have asked the waiter and he said it would be fine seeing that the restaurant was empty and it was after 9pm closing time". Staurt in a rudely manner told me "well his(waiter) not the manager here, I am. Sorry but you wont be doing that here". I just turned around in shock and went back to our table. Staurt then had the nerve to come to our table and inform the rest of my family that he just told me that I am not allowed to bring the McDonalds inside even though we are eating there and that no other restaurants allow such things. After saying that he turned around and walked away, where I then said to my family that this guys is extremely rude and informed them of what he told me at the trolley. Staurt hearing me telling them this, AGAIN came back to defend his honour and continued informing that this was not allowed when I wasn't even speaking to him but to my family.

After Staurt has left for the second time. I informed my family that he actually has a nerve to say other restaurants dont allow this when just last week I was in Spur with a few collegues and another collegue joined us eating Burger King with us at their busiest time and then Mugg and Bean has a problem.

I had no problem with the fact that he didnt want my sister to eat her McDonalds in the restaurant but I honestly think the manner in which he spoke was very inappropriate and disrespectful towards customers. Not just that but the fact that he had the nerve to turn around and walk back to the table to defend the fact that I informed my family that he is rude and I wasnt happy with the way he spoke to me.

This is very disappointing for a restaurant such as Mugg and Bean in Canal Walk and I am highly disappointed in the service received. Sorry to say but you guys really need to train up your managers better, because I think the waiters themselves are much more polite and customer friendly than the managers at your branch.
