Bad service at Mugg & Bean, Hillcrest, KZN

<p>On 18June 2016 we had supper at Mugg and Bean, Hillcrest. My husband ordered a peanutbutter milkshake (indicating it to the waiter on the menue) and the waiter brought him a mixed berry milkshake and my husband politely said it is the wrong order. The waiter took it back and the manager who happened to sit behind us at one of the tables chatting to a friend, got up and asked if there is a problem. My husband said (very friendly) that the waiter brought the wrong milkshake. The manger went to the back and talked to the waiter. The waiter came back to say that they have "just" ran out of peanutbutter!! My husband asked if he could then order another type of milkshake as he does not like mixed berries. The waiter then laughed and said , no, he meant that he must take the mixed berry one that he brought earlier to the table. So my husband asked him " so you are now forcing me to drink a milkshake that I did not order?". The waiter laughed and said "yes", because he can not order another milkshake!!! All this while the manager sat behind us, clearly listening to all this. My husband did not want to make a scene and said that is unacceptable, but he must bring the berry milkshake, as I will drink it, although I already ordered and received my own milkshake. I was really so upset with this entire situation, as it was clear that the manager must have said to the waiter that he must force us to take the milkshake, otherwise the waiter had to pay for it himself !! This was one of the worst experiences at any Mugg & Bean, as the manager was according to me , to take the loss and served the customer with the correct order, as it was clearly the waiter's mistake!! Needless to say that we did not leave any tip, as he did not deserve it!! I am VERY fond of all the Mugg & Beans in the Randburg area, as I never had such experience here. But it is not the first time that we had a bad experience at Hillcrest. I just did not report the previous one, as we are not the type of people that complains, but this was totally unacceptable. I will never go there again!!! EVER!!</p> <p> </p>
