Atrocious service, unkempt employees bad food at Mugg and Bean Malvern Queensburgh Durban KZN

The biscuits served with coffee was stale & had mould on it. Cutlery, serviettes & sauces were not given until asked for…… after the food was served. The uniforms of the waitresses & waiters AND the manager on duty was dirty & unkempt. Non of the workers had ID badges! I was, therefore, unable to identify any of them & they refused to give their names.

When we complained about the rat droppings on the floor under our table & hair on my plate in addition to the stale biscuits & poor service, there was no apology or even any intention of correcting it. The ‘manager’ was rude & looked like she did not care about the complaint. When we said that we will not be returning to the establishment, she said ‘no problem’ with arrogance & a don’t-care-damn attitude. They made ****** comments & vulgar gestures towards us (holding up her middle finger & grabbing her private parts) when we requested to speak to the owner. She & the other person who also claimed to be a manager, continuously made physical provocations by pushing my partners back to elicit a physical response & referred to the Indians as ‘you people’! The most disturbing part of this whole incident was that when we eventually managed to get hold of the ‘owner’ Mrs Govender telephonically, she didn’t even want to listen to the details of the complaint but screamed over the phone & asked us to leave! So no corrective action here at Mugg and Bean Malvern Queensburgh Durban. For the People who support this establishment….beware!! For as long as the locals support & accept poor service & bad food from this establishment, you will probably see rat droppings on your plate or mixed up in your meal & not on the floor!!
